OCHS 5th Annual Fundraiser

In 1904 the new Ledger Entry typewriter was part of the technology in Okanogan County - special enough to warrant a photograph. These typewriters, also known as book typewriters, were used in accounting departments from 1904 and into the 1940s. The time span for technological change was decades.

Now the time span is compressed. Computer power doubles every two years and other technologies may do so in weeks or days. With the new Microsoft upgrade, our hardware, purchased in 2017, can no longer support the software. We must upgrade within the next three months. The estimate for this upgrade is $13,000.
